18-hole championship golf course

Bernardus Golf is a challenging golf course, designed by Kyle Phillips, who was also responsible for the design of world famous courses like Kingsbarns, The Grove and Yas Links.

Bernardus Golf was built as a heathland golf course, which makes it accessible to any golfer. A day at Bernardus gives you the ultimate feeling of peace, quiet and relaxation. Both on the course and the practice facilities; driving range, short-game area and putting greens.

Marinus Vineyard

More than three hundred oak trees give protection to the carefully planted vines at our Marinus vineyard, perfect for grapes from the Bordeaux region. This 36ha vineyard is in the Cachagua region in the upper Carmel Valley. Surrounded by the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains creating a unique microclimate. The mountains trap the heat during the day and protect the grapes from the rising ocean fog.

The altitude provides sufficient cooling at night making the region suitable for grapes that also do well in the Bordeaux region. The grapevines grow on clay and sandy loam. We grow mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes in the Marinus Vineyard, but Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes are also grown in smaller quantities.

Bernardus Racing

Ben Pon Jr., the middle son of the Dutch distributor of Volkswagen and Porsche, was infected with the racing virus at a young age. His first serious participation was on the Zandvoort circuit in a Volkswagen Beetle with a Porsche Carrera engine.

Between 1961 and 1964 Pon drove for the Porsche factory team in a Porsche 356 B Carrera Abarth. His greatest victory was the Belgium Grand Prix at circuit Zolder in 1963. Pon raced six times at the Le Mans circuit and competed once in a Formula One race, during the 1962 Dutch Grand Prix.
